Since their 2006 release Dust of Retreat, ecclectic 8-piece Margot & the Nuclear So and So's [Insound/Myspace] has been one of my favorite bands. I've been following their blog for behind-the-scenes glimpses at Animal, their upcoming sophomore album (something I posted about in February).
Last night they played a free show at Music Hall, and I was super-psyched to hear the new songs live! Unfortunately, however, two days of All Points West had me unable to move from the couch. :( :(
LUCKILY My Pal Ray came to the rescue!! He snapped a handful of sweet shots of the band for me to gaze at in lieu of actually attending. I made myself a playlist of new & old songs to listen to while I do so. Perhaps you'd like to do the same?? (Of course, a better option would be to catch them on tour yourself-- see their Myspace page for cities/dates.)
My friend Matt's review of last night's set: "The show was great. First time seeing them live. They layer so many sounds so well. I especially loved when they used the trumpet.
I have to say though, I couldn't keep my eyes off the keyboardist. Can you please arrange a date for me? Pull some blog-o-strings???"
