Choose Your Own Adventure -- YouTube style

Oh man, remember Choose Your Own Adventure? Those YA books where you were presented with dilemma after dilemma & usually ended up dead in some rocket crash or avalanche (and then learned how to cheat by flipping back to where you started)?

Well, now Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams of California-based SMP Films has adapted the phenomenon onto YouTube-- in an original video series called Choose Your Path.

The premise is simple: Cory's cat Sparta is missing! And only you can help find him, by choosing the correct steps down the path to the cat's recovery. Here's the opening video to start with:

Once you've watched it, click to its YouTube page to choose your next step, and proceed from there. Of course-- as with the books-- the choices seem a lot simpler than they actually are.

More 80's child nostalgia, previously on SARAHSPY:
-- Life lessons learned from "The Babysitting Blues" -- Guest blog by Steve!
-- Endeavoring to Save the Polaroid
-- But more importantly, what'll Smurfette's boobs look like in 3D?
-- Holy shit a LEGO ice cube tray

For anyone interested there is an extraordinary documentary called Passing Poston about the Japanese American citizens forcibly placed in interim camps during WWII. The film is being shown at the Two Booths Pioneer Theater from August the 8th till the 14th. The documentary follows the tales of four former internees, and shows their struggles with their painful past and their search for a place to belong in a country that labeled them the enemy. It is a must see!!
